Roger J. Garfield, Jr., 78 of Morway’s Park in Charlestown, NH died Wednesday (June 25) at Elm Wood Center at Claremont following a period of failing health. He was born in Keene, NH on June 28, 1935 the son of Roger, Sr. and Stella (Nye) Garfield and had been a longtime area resident. Roger had been employed as painter by Fellows Gear Shaper in Springfield, VT. Members of his family include his wife of almost 58 years, Rosemary (Nelson) Garfield, Charlestown, NH; two sons, Scott Edward Garfield and his wife, Althea, Charlestown, NH; Steven Wayne Garfield and his wife, Doris, Ascutney, VT; a daughter, Kelly Jean Mack and her husband, Gary, Langdon, NH; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a sister, Roberta Wyman, Keene, NH; two sisters in law, one brother in law and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting hours. Graveside committal services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday July 12, 2014 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Claremont, NH. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Roy Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, NH.
