Mr. Norman M Sicard

December 17, 1921 - November 18, 2014

On November 18th 2014 Norman Marcel Sicard 92, with his loving family by his bed side at the VA in Martinsburg WV joined his wife Sophie and two daughters, Patti and Debbie in heaven. Norman was born December 17, 1921. He was a Claremont NH resident for most of his life. He worked at Joy Manufacturing for many years until retiring. After retiring Sophie and Norman spent time traveling south. He served his country in the Army from December 1942 to October 1945. He loved square dancing and belonged to the Circle 8 square dancing club. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, restaurants and gardening. He was an avid mechanic and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. Norman was blessed with two families. He married Sophie Stankiewicz November 13, 1948. She blessed him with three children, Patti, Debra & Brian. He is survived by his son Brian Sicard & Wife Debby of Cornish NH. His granddaughter Melissa Rawson & companion John Kelly of Cornish NH, Raelyn Moore & husband Shannon of Claremont NH, Bobbie Howard of Claremont NH, Ashley Sicard & husband Ben of Brattleboro, VT and Bryan Sicard & Fiancé Suzanna Brown of Sunapee NH. He has 9 great grandchildren. He married Sally Hadley on August 13, 2005. Sally also loved travelling so shortly after they married they began travelling south. They would spend summers in New Hampshire and winters in Florida. Norman is survived by his wife Sally Hadley Sicard of Martinsburg, WV, Elizabeth (Beanie) Nelson & husband Randy of Martinsburg, WV, Jessica Mohnkern & husband Dan of Titusville,PA, Leslie Holt of Port Charlotte, FL and Rick Deschenes & wife Jean of Rogers AR. His second family blessed him with 20 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was predeceased by two brothers, Marcel and Edward Sicard and a nephew, Paul Sicard. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church with the Rev. George Majka, pastor, officiating. Committal with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, NH on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for the church.
