David Anthony “Joe” Sclafani, 70, of White Hill in Claremont, NH died Friday (May 17) at his home following a period of declining health. He was born in Springfield, VT on May 31, 1942. He was a veteran of the US Navy. “Joe” owned and operated Sclafani’s Warehouse in Claremont for many years. He enjoyed antiquing, horses and woodworking. “Joe” was very fond of Standard Bred Race Horses. On January 19, 1964 he married the former Patricia Marsh. Members of his family include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Sclafani, Claremont, NH; his mother, Emma Robinson, Reading, VT; a son, Anthony Michael “Tony” Sclafani, Ft. Helen, FL; two daughters, Angela Marie Sampson and her husband, Richard, Croydon, NH; Annette Marie Ouellette and her husband, Gerald, Claremont, NH; five grandchildren, Christina A. Ouellette, Caitlin A. Ouellette, Austin Sclafani, Owen Sclafani, Logan Sampson, sisters, Rita, Ruthie, Liz, Jean and his beloved poodle, Dasani. He was predeceased by his step father, Merton Robinson and a brother, Leslie. Friends and relatives may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, NH on Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to your local animal shelter. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Roy Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
