Mr. Alan Tim Jones

January 21, 1948 - January 7, 2017

Alan Tim Jones, 68, of Sunapee, NH passed away on January 7, 2017 after battling cancer. Alan was born and raised in Claremont, NH. He was the youngest of 4 sons of Adrian & Marguerite Jones, who were long-time bakery shop owners in Claremont. Predeceased by his first wife, Susan Hackett and brother Clinton Jones. A graduate of Stevens High Class of 1966, he also attended UNH as forestry major. He served his country from 1968 – 1972 as a rescue air crewman in the US Navy. Alan also served on the Claremont Fire Department as a call firefighter in Ladder Company for 7 years. Before being employed at Sturm Ruger & Co for over 30 years as a machine operator, set-up person, and mechanical inspector, Alan also ran the family bakery until it was sold in 1977 and sold real estate after moving to Newport, NH. He is survived by his sons, Andrew and Adrian Jones, and daughters Allison Stark and Angela Vivian, brothers Robert and Jack Jones, and ex-wives Louise Morgan and Pamela LaFountain. There will be no visiting hours. Graveside committal services will be held in the spring in Mt. View Cemetery at a date and time to be announced.
